Please Help Provide Life-Saving Medical Care to Injured Civilians in Yemen!
Mercy-USA for Aid and Development, in partnership with the Arab Medical Union in Egypt, is sending specialized surgical teams to Yemen. These teams include vascular surgeons, orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons, and will initially operate on about 40 severely injured persons at the University of Science and Technology Hospital (USTH) in the capital city of Sana’a. The average cost of each surgical procedure is $1,400.
As of September 10, a team of four orthopedic surgeons has been operating on seriously injured patients at USTH. This team includes Dr. Mohamed Fadil (Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Faculty of Medicine – Minia University) and three other orthopedic surgery specialists: Drs. Ameer Ali Naqrash, Mohamed Hesham and Haetham Mohamed Moussa.
From July 28 to August 5, 2011, two neurosurgeons, Dr. Mostafa Zain (Professor of Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine - Cairo University) and Dr. Mohamed Refaat (Lecturer of Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine - Cairo University) performed 18 critical operations at the USTH.
The condition of each of these patients is very serious! Please help!
